Paul read Law at the University of Manchester between 1987 and 1990. He attended the Inns of Court School of Law, and commenced his pupillage in September 1991. He completed his pupillage in 1992, and has practised on the Midland Circuit since that time. He is a Founding Member of Derwent Chambers.
Paul has over 15 years’ experience of Public and Private Law Children Act work, plus Adoption, regularly acting for local authorities, children and parents.
Paul also undertakes certain aspects of Civil work connected with his substantial local authority practice, including some Personal Injuries work; Injunctions; and Mental Health Act work.
Paul has a widely acknowledged expertise in the areas of Disclosure and Public Interest Immunity, regularly acting for local authorities and other public bodies.
